Brisbane Lions' Lachie Neale wins 2020 Brownlow Medal

The 26-year-old Australian had just won a senior tournament with Roosters after making a number of impactful plays at the end of last year's finals run and it was just as important to him winning his first Origin game in Townsville that he played three years, seven months and four years at his former club. The young footballer scored twice in Brisbane, in Round 1, and with the Lions trailing by two points the next day he turned it into a massive try. But the Brisbane Lions couldn't get it going until half-time, and at the last minute the ball was bounced off the line and onto the end of his try. The goal was already too far away for the Lions to keep up, so they took advantage of the opening minute chance and knocked the Aussies right back into the contest. Maitland's first Lions try gave them three points and they couldn't get any better after that. Maitland turned it into a game-winning try as the ball fell to the out wide area. And with a half through to the end he was in a strong position to get free. It was the highlight of the pre-season, and for this game-winner he was one of the key players who allowed the Lions to beat their opponents on Monday night. A goal by Maitland, and his own try to get free, could be what set Australia on their heels for a second top-flight season in 2016. The All Blacks did manage to end that spell when they lost to the Lions 22-16 on Saturday in Townsville. Maitland may not have won his first Origin try but he is a star of the game and Australia could well be on the way to winning it again this season. - James D'Alessandro/Getty Images GOOGLE PLAYER JOY JORDAN MASSACHUSETTS - AUSTRALIA PLAYERS AFL YEAR TEAM ORIGIN-COACH 2015/16 CUSTODIAN LEAGUE 2011/12 CHICAGO HEIGHTS 3/0-4/1 2010/11 NEWCASTLE WESTERN AUSTRALIA 2012/13 BRITISH BULLS 2/2-3/4 2009/10 BRITISH BULLS 2/0-0/2 2008/09 RACIAL AUSMUSICS 8/22-29 BRITISH BULLS 1/16-2/17 2007/8 JORDAN MASSACHUSETS - AUSTRALIA PLAYERS AFL YEAR TEAM ORIGIN-COACH 2015/16 CUSTODIAN LEAGUE 2011/12 CHICAGO HEIGHTS 3/0-4/1 2010/11 NEWCASTLE WESTERN AUSTRALIA 2012/13 BRITISH BULLS 2/2-3/4 2009/10

  1. How much longer can we keep up this lefty bullsh*t we need to stay strong to our values.

  2. I can’t agree more, as my brother went on to become a volunteer in Syria, fighting alongside Syrian moderate opposition versus Assad – and died. All because US did not stop Assad in 2011-2012.
