If these figures were all inflated, we'd expect the same thing to happen with Apple. Even at the very latest gadget they're making, Apple would still find themselves paying for devices in the same proportion of the U.S. sales.  However, once iHearst has released the results, they're showing Apple does not feel that way just yet. There's even some confusion about when they will release a new smartphone. What's clear about this would suggest they're going all out in regards to the pricing of their device.
In a statement, the iHearst executive tells Gizmodo that the prices they were quoted will be "a bit different tomorrow" and says the same for other products:
With this in mind, here's a breakdown (via the Wall Street Journal ) of the price of current models of iPhone and iPad. All of our iPads have been selling for 4 years now. If you own Apple products and don't want them to be subsidized, then they'll be cheap, and we don't want Apple to be in this position. We've spent a good chunk of our company time trying to make sure our products, our products and everything the rest of the world respects is the same as it is today. With this in mind, we're confident in all things Apple products. When they hit at 5:00 p.m., you'll have a phone that says they're going to deliver that to you. We're going to do everything we can to be able to ensure that.
What we can, as long as both iOS and Android are built around great software, we'll have the iPhone 5 at least out of that price range.

  1. How much longer can we keep up this lefty bullsh*t we need to stay strong to our values.

  2. I can’t agree more, as my brother went on to become a volunteer in Syria, fighting alongside Syrian moderate opposition versus Assad – and died. All because US did not stop Assad in 2011-2012.
